The Mission of Oregon Scottish Rite Clinics is to help young children communicate.

In the Spring of 2003, our Board of Trustees held a strategic planning session in which they selected this shorter, to-the-point Mission and decided to change the organization's name to Oregon Scottish Rite Clinics (formerly Scottish Rite Foundation for Childhood Language Disorders). We also have an updated logo with corresponding brochures and print materials.

Our Vision is to ensure that Oregon's children have the communication skills they need for success at home, in school and in life by the time they enter kindergarten. With so many children in the state needing our services, Oregon Scottish Rite Clinics has developed an ambitious plan to add new clinics. Clinics will be added first in regions not presently served, then capacity will be added to existing clinics.

During their planning meeting, the Board also developed three broad goals, with an extensive list of objectives for each. These broad goals are to:

1. Provide services to the underserved areas of the state and for underserved populations;

2. Use state-of-the-art techniques and research-based practices to achieve functional changes in young children's communication.

3. Become well-known as a community resource.

Individuals wishing to volunteer to assist in these efforts should E-mail the Portland clinic.
